GWDT-MS Distributed Temperature Sensing System (DTS)

Desc
  • The GWDT-MS Distributed Temperature Sensing System (DTS), developed and manufactured by GoWatron, is an online temperature monitoring system. Based on Raman scattering and Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry (OTDR), the system uses a sensing fiber to provide continuous, distributed temperature monitoring along the entire fiber route.
  • In the GWDT-MS system, the sensing fiber serves as both the temperature-sensing element and the optical signal transmission medium. The system measures the temperature distribution along the fiber and identifies abnormal temperature rise events and their locations. Depending on the DTS interrogator, sensing cable and measurement settings, the monitoring range of a single channel can extend from several kilometres to tens of kilometres.
  • Compared with conventional point temperature sensors, the GWDT-MS provides continuous linear temperature monitoring over long distances. Its key features include wide-area coverage, immunity to electromagnetic interference, passive sensing in the field, abnormal temperature location and remote communication. It is suitable for temperature monitoring, abnormal overheating detection and early fire warning in power cables, tunnels, oil and gas pipelines, storage tanks, utility tunnels and other large-scale infrastructure.
  • The sensing cable is a passive sensing element and requires no electrical power at the monitored location. It is immune to electromagnetic interference. Depending on the operating environment, flame-retardant, fire-resistant, metal-free, armoured, corrosion-resistant, high-temperature-resistant or low-temperature-resistant cable constructions can be selected, making the system suitable for environments with severe electromagnetic interference and demanding industrial conditions.

GWFT-MS Fluorescence-Based Fiber-Optic Temperature Monitoring System

Desc
  • The GWFT-MS Fluorescence-Based Fiber-Optic Temperature Monitoring System, developed and manufactured by GoWatron, is a point-type fiber-optic temperature monitoring system based on fluorescence lifetime thermometry. It is designed for high-voltage equipment, environments with strong electromagnetic interference, confined spaces, and other applications where conventional electrical temperature sensors may be unsuitable.
  • The system transmits excitation light to a fluorescent temperature probe through an optical fiber and receives the returning fluorescence signal. The optoelectronic signal conditioner determines the real-time temperature at each measurement point using the calibrated relationship between fluorescence lifetime and temperature.
  • The sensing probe uses a passive optical design and requires no power supply or electronic circuitry at the measurement point. It does not create a direct electrical connection between high-voltage primary equipment and low-voltage monitoring systems, providing effective electrical isolation and excellent immunity to electromagnetic interference.
  • The GWFT-MS is suitable for online temperature monitoring of critical points in medium- and high-voltage switchgear, dry-type transformers, liquid-immersed transformers, high-power variable-frequency drives, power conversion systems, energy storage systems, industrial microwave equipment, and other demanding electromagnetic environments.

GWWT-MS Wireless Temperature Monitoring System

Desc
  • The GWWT-MS Wireless Temperature Monitoring System is an online real-time temperature monitoring solution tailored for power distribution equipment. It is specially developed for online temperature monitoring of heat-generating nodes in high-voltage and low-voltage electrical equipment, solving the temperature detection challenges of hard-to-access high-voltage connection points (e.g., switchgears, busbar joints, and cable terminations) where wired monitoring solutions are impractical.
  • Replacing traditional manual infrared temperature inspection, the system provides 24/7 online overheating pre-alarm monitoring. It fundamentally eliminates the inherent drawbacks of conventional manual inspection, including measurement delay, monitoring blind spots, and the inability to conduct real-time surveillance on high-risk heat-generating points.
  • The system deploys wireless temperature sensors at critical heat-prone positions of power equipment to acquire real-time temperature data, which is wirelessly transmitted to temperature measurement gateways and the monitoring backend platform. It supports high-precision monitoring of equipment temperature fluctuations, automatic identification of abnormal temperature rises and overtemperature faults, and triggers real-time pop-up prompts as well as audible and visual alarms. This enables early detection, early warning and early troubleshooting of equipment overheating hazards.
