GWPR-AF-S Series Arc-Flash Sensors

The GWPR-AF-S series comprises fiber-optic arc-flash sensors for detecting internal arc faults in switchgear. The sensors are designed for use with the GWPR220-AF Feeder Arc-Flash Protection Relay and the GWPR350-AF Busbar Arc-Flash Protection Relay.
When an internal arc fault occurs, the sensors detect the resulting optical radiation and transmit an optical signal to the connected protection relay through an optical-fiber link. The relay evaluates the optical signal together with the configured electrical permissive criteria and operating logic, then initiates an alarm or trip output as required.
The series provides different spectral responses, self-test functions, fields of view, sensing methods and mounting arrangements. Available configurations include broad-spectrum UV–visible sensors, UV sensors, self-test sensors, lens-type sensors, flange-mounted sensors, wide-angle point sensors and light-sensitive optical-fiber sensors.

GWPR220-AF Feeder Arc Flash Protection Relay

The GWPR220-AF Feeder Arc Flash Protection Relay is a professional millisecond-level Internal Arc-fault Control Device (IACD) compliant with IEC and GB standards including IEC 60947-9-2, IEC 62271-200 and GB/T 14598.302. It is specially developed for arc fault protection in switchgear feeder compartments and cable chambers, suitable for 0.4kV～33kV distribution system feeder circuits.
The GWPR220-AF Feeder Arc Flash Relay adopts passive optical arc sensing and feeder CT secondary analog signal acquisition, achieving precise and selective fault isolation. It delivers a minimum 4ms tripping response, rapidly isolating faulty feeders before arc faults produce high temperature, shock waves and molten metal. This effectively protects switchgear and personnel, and ensures uninterrupted power supply for busbars and healthy feeders.
The GWPR220-AF Feeder Arc Flash Relay integrates comprehensive functions including feeder protection measurement, optical link monitoring, local HMI parameter configuration, fault recording, Modbus-RTU (RS-485) communication and relay output control, featuring excellent EMC immunity and insulation performance for harsh on-site operating conditions. It is a standard active arc protection solution for medium/low-voltage feeder cabinets and Motor Control Centers (MCC).

GWPR350-AF Busbar Arc-Flash Protection Relay

Developed for 0.4 kV to 132 kV power distribution systems, the GWPR350-AF Busbar Arc-Flash Protection Relay provides ultra-fast fault protection. It is engineered to detect and clear arc-flash faults within milliseconds to reduce equipment damage, prevent personnel injuries and limit power outages, acting as a vital safeguard to secure system reliability.
