Product Introduction
The KYN61-40.5 is an IEC-standard multi-voltage compatible metal-clad withdrawable metal-enclosed AC switchgear, serving as the mainstream core equipment for global medium-voltage power distribution. Designed with 40.5kV-level insulation and voltage withstand capacity, it provides sufficient insulation margin and can be directly applied to 33kV, 34.5kV, 36kV, 40.5kV international medium-voltage systems and domestic 35kV systems without hardware modification. It is recommended to verify insulation coordination parameters according to actual system voltage for specific projects. The switchgear adopts a modular assembled metal structure with fully isolated independent compartments and a withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker trolley. Equipped with standardized five-prevention mechanical interlock devices, it delivers high operational safety and convenient maintenance. Matched with international standard protective relays and measuring components, it realizes automatic control, fault protection and data monitoring for multi-voltage distribution systems, widely applicable to various medium-voltage power distribution projects at home and overseas.

Main Structural Components
The equipment adopts a multi-compartment isolated structure with independent cavities to prevent fault propagation and ensure operational safety. The core components are listed as follows:
- Circuit Breaker Compartment: The core operation cavity equipped with a withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker trolley, featuring two positions: test position and connected position. The trolley can be entirely removed from the cabinet for equipment inspection and replacement, adapting to standardized overseas maintenance modes.
- Busbar Compartment: Installed with high-voltage main busbars and branch busbars to realize power collection, shunting and transmission, adopting insulated enclosed design in compliance with international high-voltage safety specifications.
- Cable Compartment: Used for laying incoming and outgoing high-voltage cables, integrating primary components such as current transformers, voltage transformers, earthing switches and surge arresters with high integration and standardized layout.
- Secondary Control Compartment: An independent enclosed cavity configured with protective relays, measuring components, control switches, status indicators and other secondary equipment, realizing equipment control, signal feedback and fault monitoring.
- Pressure Relief Channel: Equipped with a dedicated pressure relief structure to release pressure rapidly in case of internal arc faults, avoiding cabinet rupture, equipment damage and personal safety hazards.
- Five-prevention Interlock Mechanism: A standardized mechanical interlock device that completely prevents five major safety risks: incorrect opening or closing of the circuit breaker, opening or closing of disconnector under load, closing earthing switch on a live circuit, closing the circuit breaker with earthing switch closed, and access to live compartments, fully complying with international high-voltage equipment safety standards.
Core Functions
- System Switching Control: Supports manual and electric closing and opening operations for circuits, distribution transformers and other main equipment in 33kV, 34.5kV, 36kV, 40.5kV (and domestic 35kV) systems, adapting to medium-voltage power distribution standards worldwide to realize accurate power scheduling and circuit control.
- Fault Protection Tripping: The supporting protective relays monitor system operating conditions in real time and trigger instantaneous tripping of the circuit breaker in case of short circuit, overload, earth fault and other abnormalities to isolate the faulty section and ensure power system stability.
- Safety Isolation Protection: Reliable electrical isolation is achieved through independent compartment structure, earthing switches and interlock mechanisms during power-off maintenance, ensuring the personal safety of operation and maintenance personnel.
- Automatic Monitoring Compatibility: Compatible with global substation automation systems (50Hz/60Hz universal), realizing power data acquisition, remote monitoring and signal uploading to meet the demands of intelligent power distribution projects.
- Fault Risk Suppression: The built-in arc pressure relief structure effectively restrains the diffusion of internal fault arcs, reduces the impact scope of accidents and improves overall equipment operational reliability.
