Product Overview
- The GWPC300-TP Main Transformer Protection Panel is an integrated secondary complete set of equipment specially designed for main transformers in 33kV, 66kV and 132kV substations, as well as step-up and step-down main transformers in power plants. It integrates core functions including transformer protection, data measurement and control, on-load tap-changer regulation, signal monitoring and communication transmission. The panel enables real-time monitoring of main transformer operating conditions and rapid fault isolation, providing essential protection for the safe and stable operation of main transformers.
- The equipment adopts an IEC standard secondary cabinet with dimensions (H×W×D): 2260mm × 800mm × 600mm, integrally welded from cold-rolled steel plates to ensure a robust structure and high mechanical strength, suitable for long-term indoor operation in substations. The cabinet is equipped with a tempered glass viewing window, anti-theft lock, top heat dissipation structure, bottom cable entry holes and copper earthing busbars, offering excellent dustproof, moisture-proof, anti-condensation and EMI-resistant performance. Fully fitted with standard auxiliary accessories such as mounting rails, wiring ducts, insulating partitions, terminal blocks and wire markers inside the cabinet, it adopts physically segregated routing of power and control circuits to effectively mitigate electromagnetic interference. Neatly arranged wiring simplifies commissioning and maintenance, and the whole panel fully complies with power engineering acceptance criteria.

Functions & Applications
- Differential Main Protection – Provides instantaneous tripping for severe faults such as internal winding short circuits, inter-turn short circuits, and lead wire short circuits, thereby preventing catastrophic equipment damage.
- HV & LV Backup Protection – Integrates multiple protection functions, including composite voltage-blocking overcurrent, zero-sequence overcurrent, neutral gap zero-sequence overvoltage, overload, zero-sequence voltage protection, and cooling system fault protection. It fully covers fault scenarios such as external short circuits, neutral grounding faults, overloads, and cooling system abnormalities, ensuring all-round backup protection.
- Non-Electrical Quantity Protection – Provides real-time acquisition of transformer body signals, including Buchholz relay, oil temperature, pressure relief, and abnormal oil level. It supports heavy gas tripping, light gas alarming, high-temperature alarm/tripping, and pressure relief protection to monitor latent internal faults.
Measurement, Control & Communication System
- The measurement and control unit collects real-time analog data from each side of the transformer, including three-phase voltages, three-phase currents, active/reactive power, power factor, oil temperature, and winding temperature. It also acquires binary signals such as circuit breaker status, disconnector status, tap changer position, and mechanism energy storage status.
- The equipment supports mainstream communication protocols including IEC 61850, Modbus, IEC 60870-103 and IEC 60870-104. It uploads full-station operating data, fault records, and alarm information to the substation background monitoring system in real time, enabling remote monitoring, data retrieval, and intelligent operation and maintenance (O&M).
