GWPD-S-UHF UHF Intelligent Partial-Discharge Sensor
Product Desc
The GWPD-S-UHF is an intelligent UHF partial-discharge (PD) sensor developed for online PD monitoring of high-voltage switchgear. Employing the ultra-high-frequency (UHF) detection principle, it features a magnetic-mount structure that supports live-line installation without power outage. Equipped with a built-in high-energy lithium-thionyl chloride (LiSOCl₂) battery, the sensor offers a long service life of 5 to 8 years. It transmits PRPS and PRPD partial-discharge patterns via long-range LoRa-WAN wireless communication. The sensor enables non-contact online monitoring of internal insulation defects in switchgear, detects early insulation deterioration risks, and prevents catastrophic failures of high-voltage equipment.

Main Functions
- UHF Partial-Discharge Signal Acquisition; With a detection bandwidth of 300–3000 MHz and a wide dynamic range of –80 to 10 dBm, it accurately captures UHF electromagnetic signals induced by partial-discharge activity inside switchgear compartments.
- Partial-Discharge Pattern Output;Provides standard PRPS (Phase-Resolved Pulse Sequence) and PRPD (Phase-Resolved Partial-Discharge) patterns, supplying raw measurement data to the back-end monitoring system for insulation condition assessment and fault classification.
- Long-Range Wireless Communication;Supports the LoRa-WAN protocol as well as the SGCC transmission-transformation protocol. The wireless transmission range is no less than 500 meters; both wireless and wired interfaces are available as options for flexible on-site deployment.
- Long-Life Maintenance-Free Operation;Powered by a built-in 19,000 mAh high-performance lithium-thionyl chloride (LiSOCl₂) battery, providing a 5 to 8-year service cycle and minimizing battery replacement efforts.
- Live-Line Installation; The magnetic-adsorption mounting design enables on-site retrofitting without de-energizing the switchgear, greatly simplifying field commissioning.
